John M. Newman, Ph.D.

Dr. John M. Newman, a professor at James Madison University and former military intelligence officer, is the author of several acclaimed books, including “JFK and Vietnam: Deception, Intrigue and the Struggle for Power” and
“Oswald and the CIA.” His findings include pioneering work on JFK’s reversal of Vietnam policies and on the secret activities of CIA executive David A. Phillips. In 2015, he published the first-volume of a book series “Where Angels Tread Lightly: The Assassination of President Kennedy.” Previously, he was for two decades a professor at the University of Maryland and for two decades a military intelligence officer, including work an Army major and as the executive assistant to the National Security Agency’s director.
